Take a deeper dive into the illustrative solutions provided to a handful of clients.
For nearly the past decade, I have had the honor and privilege of working as the staff illustrator for Concealed Carry Magazine (circulation approx. 750k). My duties for CCM have included editorial art, spot illustrations, technical drawings and political cartoons. My art has also graced the cover twice.
I am adept at adjusting my style to meet the tone of the article, working with the authors, editors, and creative director to determine the specific need of every article.
My work with them has garnered me several juried awards within the publishing industry.
While employed as an in-house designer for the Hoshizaki/Lancer manufacturing company, I was tasked with creating a cast of colorful cartoon characters to illustrate slushie beverage favors.
I really enjoyed the combination of crisp, vector-based style with the quirky personality of each character.
Each year, the New Braunfels (Texas) Parks & Rec Dept holds the “Wein & Saengerfest” street festival.
During my brief stay in the Texas Hill Country, I was tapped to paint a series of collectible posters for the event.
I created acrylic paintings in a lively, colorful style depicting silly, big-nosed citizens sipping wine near recognizable New Braunfels landmarks.
Scans of the images were used in marketing, while the original art was auctioned off to raise funds for the department. Additional funds were raised through the sale of limited-edition, signed poster prints.
In the spring of 2024, I challenged myself to learn how to use Adobe’s Fresco drawing program. Every Monday evening for six months, I hooked my iPad up to my YouTube channel and live-streamed a new alphabetical installment of a post-apocalyptic-themed coloring book for adults.
After completing the drawings, I created a montage cover and complied them into a book, which is currently available for sale on Amazon (Associate Link) and at a local indie book store in Kenosha, WI.
